This morning

while meeting with my cooperating professor for our freshman seminar class, we talked about what motivation was about and how to create long-term goals. As we talked, we came upn discussing what causes people to lose motivation and the power of being in the moment, and how it causes us to lose focus on our goal. “Where does motivation come from?” she pondered. “I’m a psychologist, and I don’t even know the answer”. The knowledge of this world does not answer questions that the wisdom of God provides for us.

Action

There is a difference between a Christian businessman and a businessman who is a Christian. Namely, there is a difference between a student who is a Christian, and a Christian student. But what is it?

I think that many would agree that it is not the label that matters, it is where the heart is at. And that may be true, but even so, which comes first?

When Simon, the fisherman, dropped his net to FOLLOW JESUS, he became a fisher of men. What he did after that point did not start with him being a fisherman, it started with him fishing for men. It had nothing to do with his business, rather the work that came with following Jesus. ANd that work is not yet done.

That is the difference between a Christian, and a person who is a Christian. Action.

We got everything a man could need
We got oohs, we got ahhs
Still got a mountain full of mouths to feed

Seeing and Believing

John 20:24-29

Now Thomas, called the twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.

The other disciples therefore said to him “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” And Thomas answered and said to Him “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
